Giant Panda Interesting Facts

A Giant panda almost eats half the day. These giant animals require approximate 28 pounds of bamboo to satisfy their daily dietary needs. Sometimes, pandas will also eat birds or rodents! They relieve themselves dozens of times during a day.

Wild pandas only live in the remote high bamboo forests regions of China. Pandas like cool and wet climate and these forests are just the right place for them. They may climb as high as 13,000 feet to feed themselves.

Pandas may appear relaxed and sedentary, but they are skilled tree-climbers and efficient swimmers.

The male pandas use their highly developed sense of smell to avoid other males and find females for mating in the spring season. Females give birth after five months of pregnancy. Pandas are born white and develop their coloring later.
