WHO to Convene a Global Forum for new Coronavirus
The World Health Organization (WHO) will convene a global research and innovation forum on 11-12 Feb to address the issue of new coronavirus (2019-nCoV). The forum will be organized in collaboration with Global Research Collaboration for Infectious Disease Preparedness.

The forum will bring together leading scientists, health organizations, ministers and global health and research agencies. The forum aims to discuss several areas of research, including identifying the source of the coronavirus as well as sharing of biological samples and genetic sequences.

The participants will build on existing research and identify knowledge gaps and research priorities. This will help accelerate the scientific information needed to manufacture medical products that can minimize the impact of virus outbreak.
